County will close Brook Road North for two days
By Cecilia Nasmith
Northumberland County is announcing a temporary full closure of Brook Road North (County Road 20) between King Street East and Elgin Street East from July 25 to July 26.
This closure will allow the Town of Cobourg's contractor to install underground infrastructure for a trunk sanitary sewer as part of the on-going Cobourg East Community Trunk Servicing Project.
During the closure, Brook Road North will be closed to all but local traffic. Local access will be maintained between Elgin and 675 Brook Rd. N., and between King and 459 Brook Rd. N.
Through traffic will be detoured via D'Arcy Street, with signage in place to guide motorists.
At present, construction activities are taking place on Brook Road North, with lane restrictions and lane shifts in effect. Following this closure, this series of periodic closures will continue as the work progresses.
Residents and motorists who regularly travel through this area are encouraged to plan ahead to allow extra travel time.
Northumberland County will continue to provide update as the project progresses.
