The Town of Cobourg has issued a notification of closures to be expected Wednesday, July 1, for Canada Day.
Municipal buildings that will be closed include the Cobourg Community Centre at 750 D'Arcy St., Building 7 Public Works (though on-call staff can be reached in case of emergency at 905-372-9971), Venture 13 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre at 739 D'Arcy St. (though it is open to members) and the Cobourg Public Library at 200 Ontario St. (after which the library transitions to summer hours that include Sunday closures in July and August).
Though municipal offices at Victoria Hall (55 King St. W.) will be closed, the building itself will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the Art Gallery of Northumberland (third floor west) open from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Experience Cobourg Tourism Hub (35 Albert St.) will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Cobourg Transit operates during regular hours, though the parade will have some impact on service.
Fixed-route stops on King Street (at Matthew, Division and Walton) will not take place from 7 a.m. to noon.
The on-demand route will not be able to stop at Spring and King and King and Division (north/southbound) during those same hours.
William Street from University Avenue West to King Street is closed from 10:30 a.m. to noon – for the University at William southeast corner stop, pick-up will be on Margaret at University Avenue.

July 1 is the last day of the 2026 Waterfront Festival, and everyone is invited to take advantage of the complimentary shuttle service – park free at Northumberland Mall (1111 Elgin St. W.) or the CCC and catch the bus that leaves every half-hour.
Pick-ups are at the mall's bus shelter near the front entrance and the CCC's bus stop at the front entrance. Drop-offs are at the Cobourg Marina and at the downtown terminal on Church Street (east side, between Queen and Perry streets).
Hours of service are 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. (or, from June 27-30, 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.).
