The men and women of the Cobourg Fire Department will be in the spotlight in a new six-part docu-series called In The Line of Fire, which debuts on Bell Fibe TV1 on July 30.
“Fire fighters are often called to help people on the worst days of their lives,” the announcement said.
“Through immersive story-telling and first-hand accounts, this series takes viewers behind the scenes of emergency response and public service.”
Viewers will see exactly how these first responders do their jobs, digging a little deeper to uncover what inspires them to answer the calling. It's also an opportunity to learn about the diverse divisions that make up a fire service, training, water-rescue efforts in Lake Ontario's frigid waters – as well as some deeply personal stories of courage, loss, survival and unwavering commitment to the community.
From public-education initiatives and community outreach to strategic partnerships with municipal agencies, In The Line of Fire offers an in-depth look at the essential role the Cobourg Fire Department plays in the community.
Cobourg is also home to the Canadian Fire Fighters Museum, offering the series the opportunity to explore the history of fire fighting, innovations in suppression techniques, fire codes and fire-fighter safety – and how they continue to shape modern emergency services.
Chief Ellard Beaven extended thanks to Eelay Media and Bell Fibe TV1 for showcasing “the faces behind the mask and the hose.
“We are incredibly proud of our Cobourg Fire Department family, and grateful for the opportunity to share our stories.”
Eelay Media is a Cobourg-based production company, described by Executive Producer Mark Johnston as “all about content with higher purpose.
“We are honoured to partner with the Cobourg Fire Department on such an impactful series. It was both humbling and inspiring to hear first-hand stories from the front lines. The personal accounts of sacrifice, resilience and service have created a powerful and memorable series for Bell Fibe TV1 viewers.”
In The Line of Fire is available exclusively on Bell Fibe TV Channel 1 and through the Fibe TV app.
