Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation invites the young (and young-at-heart) to dust off an old-fashioned summer tradition and host lemonade stand to raise funds in support of NHH.
It's their fifth annual Lemon-Aid for Northumberland Hills Hospital, which has raised more than $24,000 to support patient care and local health-care services since its 2022 launch.
That old summer tradition has become a new one, Foundation Chief Executive Officer Rhonda Cunningham said in the announcement.
“We love seeing participants of all ages, as well as local business, put their own unique spin on their lemonade stands while supporting our hospital,” Cunningham added.
Lemon-Aid is once again sponsored by Port Hope's Davis's Your Independent Grocer. Upon registration, participants will receive kits to help them get started. There is no age restriction to participate, and organizers hope to see both new and returning hosts get on board again this year.
Locations of stands will be shared throughout the summer, on both the Foundation website and social-media channels. Funds raised will be used to purchase beanies – both “beanie” babies for young patients in the Surgical Services department and “beanie' hats for the patients of the Lions and lioness Cancer and Supportive Care Clinic.
A collective total will be announced at the end of the summer.
Interested hosts can contact Foundation Manager Community Giving Courtney Ker at 905-372-6811 ext. 3068 or cker@nhh.ca to sign up and co-ordinate a kit pick-up.
