Many flags are flying at half-mast today to to recognize the National Day of Mourning.

The list includes Northumberland Hills Hospital, which will also observe a hospital-wide moment of silence at 11 AM.

In Cobourg, council members will attend a 4 PM commemorative ceremony in Lucas Point Park organized by the Northumberland Labour Council.

Established by the Canadian Labour Congress in 1984, the National Day of Mourning honours and remembers individuals injured, killed or made ill as a result of a workplace-related accident or hazard, as well as the many families, friends and colleagues also affected by these tragedies.
