A Brighton man is charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and failing to stop after an accident, following an alleged collision on Highway 401 westbound near Grafton Monday morning.

An injured driver reported that a second driver failed to stop and had been unable to maintain their lane. Additional complaints from other motorists were received matching a similar vehicle. Police later located the suspected vehicle on the hard shoulder of the 401 near Port Hope. Leigh Smith will appear in court in April.
