Cobourg Police allege to have dented organized crime in an apparent retail theft bust.

Authorities say on Jan. 4, officers stopped a vehicle as the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver is alleged to have a suspended license. As the vehicle was being prepared for a tow, police discovered over 4000 chocolate bars, sunglasses, protein bars and other items, valued at over $16,000.

Three people from Brampton are charged.
