Cobourg

As part of its Local Government Week observances, the Town of Cobourg invites young people in Grade 7 to 10 to enter its Mayor for the Day contest.

Applications should be submitted to Mayor Lucas Cleveland, who will select the winner. Applicants can submit, in written or video format, through Oct. 17.

The winner will get a tour of municipal facilities, spend time with Cleveland and attend official meetings on Oct. 29, and officially open an Oct. 29 council meeting. As well, a class visit will be arranged for the mayor to bring lunch and answer questions on municipal government.

This is an opportunity for young people to submit an idea to the municipal council on how on how to make their community a better place to live.

Application forms are available at the Customer Service Desk at Victoria Hall or on-line at Cobourg.ca/MayorForTheDay.
