Cobourg

Though Strong Mayor Powers mean that Cobourg Mayor Lucas Cleveland sets the town's budget for 2026, the Town of Cobourg has announced that applications will still be taken for the annual Community Grants Program until Oct. 31.

This program has long been a feature of each year's budget deliberations, designed to provide modest levels of support to non-profit and community-based organizations that improve the quality of life for local residents and the Cobourg community as a whole.

Each fall's budget process has featured the opportunity for these organizations to make their requests in support of special projects and operating expenses. These requests often take the form of grants and in-kind contributions such as parking permits or reduced fees for the use of such municipal facilities as the Victoria Hall Concert Hall.

Interested applicants are encouraged to review the Municipal Community Grant Policy prior to applying for information on grants available, funding eligibility, and the new grant review and reporting process (www.Cobourg.ca/grants)

Eligible organizations must submit a Municipal Grant Application Form, along with any required documentation, by 4 p.m. Oct. 31.

Applications can be submitted by email to clerk@cobourg.ca or by mail, marked to the attention of the Legislative Services Department at Victoria Hall, 55 King St. W., Cobourg, K9A 2M2
