A Cobourg man is facing charges following an alleged disturbance at a former partner’s house.

Police claim that early this morning, officers responded to a home in the area of Elgin Street East as the complainant suggested that her ex-partner entered her home, caused property damage and then left in a vehicle, possibly impaired by drugs.

Police say they stopped the vehicle going westbound on Elgin Street and conducted a traffic stop. It's alleged the driver had a quantity of fentanyl in the vehicle. He is charged with mischief, impaired driving and possession of drugs. The unidentified man was later released.
