Police chase in Cobourg ends with charges

A Cobourg woman is charged for allegedly fleeing from police during a traffic stop, with her child in the vehicle.

On Wednesday evening, police were conducting speed enforcement on King Street East in Cobourg. They tried to stop a vehicle for speeding, but the driver drove away.

After a short chase, police disengaged, over public safety concerns. The woman was identified and later arrested.

She is charged with Speeding, Flight from Peace Officer, Dangerous Operation, Obstruct Peace Officer, Fail to Provide Necessaries of Life – Child, and Driving While Under Suspension. She was released with a future court date.
