Cobourg man charged in alleged hatchet incident

An 18-year-old Cobourg man is charged with assault for allegedly confronting his neighbour with a hatchet.

Police responded to a report of a fight in the area of Alexandria Drive and D’Arcy Street early Monday morning.

Authorities claim a dispute between two neighbours escalated, and one neighbour confronted the other with a hatchet. Police seized the weapon.

The accused was released and will appear in court at a later date.
