Cobourg

The Cobourg and Area Museum announces a September fundraiser that showcases more than 40 local artists.

Art Draw For History, which happens at 4 p.m. Sept. 13 in the Victoria Hall Concert Hall, is billed as “a Saturday afternoon fundraiser with an artistic twist, where very ticket holder takes home a valuable piece of art.”

The artists are local, of course – Ron Bolt, Kelvin Smith, Stephen Della Casa, Steven Gilberry, Barbara Buntin among them. These generous local artists (and benefactors) have donated their work, each piece valued between $250 and $1,000. Many of them will be present for the event.

Every ticket holder will be given a number and, when it is drawn, can select an art piece of his or her choice. You can preview the selections at https://tinyurl.com/ArtDraw2025

The event also includes a silent auction, music by local musician Marianne Marusic and a delicious array of hors d'oeuvres.

Tickets are $200, and each ticket admits two people so you can bring a friend. They are on sale now at the museum (located at 141 Orr St. - 905-372-0698), the Concert Hall box office (55 King St. W. - 905-372-2210) and Acanthus Interiors (79c King St. W. - 905-885-8648).

The museum, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year, chose Cobourg: A Town Built on Dreams as this year's theme. Admission is free, and int continues to be open in September on weekends.
