A 56-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges in connection with an alleged theft from a local business on Monday.

Police say officers responded to a report of a theft at a business near Albert Street and Third Street. The CCTV footage provided by the business led investigators to identify a suspect.

The man was located and arrested without incident. As a result, he is charged with theft, possession of property obtained by crime, and failure to comply with probation.

He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
