Cobourg

The Town of Cobourg announces a year-round lowering of the speed limit on King Street East between D'Arcy Street and Maplewood Boulevard.

The speed reduction in this area – from just west of CCI to just east of Merwin Greer Public School – is being established as part of the town's commitment to enhancing the safety of both pedestrian and drivers.

Cobourg Police Service reminds drivers to slow down and be observant around schools, crossing-guard locations, local parks and school zones. Community Safety Zones surround most schools and parks and, as such, Provincial Offence Notice fines are doubled for breaking the rules of the road in these areas.
