A Cobourg man is facing charges in a family dispute, in which a dog was apparently injured.

Police responded to a home in the north end Saturday afternoon, located two men in a physical altercation and an injured dog in the backyard.

The investigation determined that one man had stabbed the dog, which led to a dispute between the two men.

The dog was treated at a local vet clinic, while the accused was held for a bail hearing.
