Police investigate alleged bomb threat at Cobourg Home Depot

Emergency services attended Home Depot on Sunday, December 28, 2025 after a reported bomb threat in the store, according to a report in Today’s Northumberland.

Cobourg Police were dispatched at approximately 5:30 p.m. to Home Deport while Cobourg Fire Department and Northumberland County Paramedics were placed on standby.

Unconfirmed reports state that a person robbed the store, handed a employee a note stating a bomb was in the storage area. Cobourg Police have not released any information.

A 60-year-old Oshawa man is facing charges after police responded to a report of intimate partner violence.

On December 19, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault at a residence in Cobourg after a woman reported being assaulted by her partner. No physical injuries were reported to police.

During the investigation, police seized a switchblade.

As a result of the police investigation, a 60-year-old Oshawa man was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm, Assault, and Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
