Cobourg woman charged in alleged shoplifting incident

A Cobourg woman is facing theft charges following an alleged shoplifting incident Monday afternoon.

Police were called to a  business on Elgin Street West in Cobourg at approximately 1:15.

The unidentified suspect is also charged with possession of stolen property valued under $5000. She was released with a later court date.

Police claim to have arrested nine times in the past year, with police having 21 interactions with her.
