Port Hope hires new solicitor

The Town of Port Hope has hired a new Municipal Solicitor and Director of Legal and Legislative Services.

Officials said Lee Parkin, a member of the Law Society of Ontario and a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School.

"I'm honoured to join the Municipality of Port Hope. The opportunity to contribute to such a vibrant community is thrilling, and I look forward to working with incredible colleagues and residents to shape a promising future, particularly with the exciting developments of Port Hope 2.0 on the horizon," said Parkin.

He has experience in negotiating multi-million infrastructure contracts and planning appeals and agreements with provincial ministries.

"We are excited to welcome Lee to our team. His innovative approach and wealth of experience will undoubtedly further our mission to serve our community with diligence and dedication," explained Mayor Olena Hankivsky.

Parkin starts November 17.
