Northumberland County

Northumberland County announces a new look for its garbage-bag tags.

In the coming weeks, a redesigned batch of tags will become available, featuring a gold-foil band and a new purple colour, the announcement said, “to support easier identification and improve program integrity.”

And at this time, there is no change in pricing – pending whatever changes might be made in the current debate over the county's 2026 budget.

Existing green bag tags will continue to be accepted as always, and need not be exchanged. They will be phased out naturally over time, with no set deadline for their discontinuation.
