Colborne man facing drug charges

A 51-year-old Colborne man is facing drug charges after police responded to a disturbance Monday night.  

At approximately 8:24 p.m., police were dispatched to a disturbance at a business on Division Street in Cobourg.

Police attended and located an individual wanted on two outstanding warrants with the Cobourg Police Service. Dennis Hockney was arrested and charged with three counts of failure to attend court and theft of a motor vehicle.

During the arrest, police allege officers located approximately 25.5 grams of suspected fentanyl approximately 3 grams of suspected cocaine approximately $1,765 in Canadian currency

As a result of the police investigation, the accused was further charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
