A decade of hosting a special holiday event at their Christmas tree farm is in the books, and Sharron Wharram-Spry and Brian Spry have raised more than $200,000 in all for priority equipment for Northumberland Hills Hospital

With a 10th and final year in the books, the Spry Family Christmas Tree event has raised a record-breaking $42,357 for the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation – boosting the total raised, since the event was first introduced in 2015, to $214,000.

The event began when Sharron Wharram-Spry and Brian Spry had the idea of opening up their Cobourg Christmas tree farm for an annual family event in support of the Foundation's Light Up A Life Christmas fundraising campaign. Each year, the proceeds supported the purchase of priority medical equipment for NHH.

Proceeds from this year's event on Dec. 7 will support the purchase of hematology analyzers for the hospital's laboratory.

Event sponsors this year included Baker Tilly KDN LLP, Wharram Tree Service Ltd., Ley Wealth Management, Neil Ganson-RBC Wealth Management, Davey Tree Expert Company, Cobourg Nissan, Quest Auto Trade, Craft Food House and Starbucks Canada.

The Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this event possible – the generous hosts, the dedicated volunteers, returning and new attendees, donors and event sponsors.
