The 10th annual Spry Family Christmas fundraiser returns, offering the chance to enjoy a family outing, pick out your Christmas tree and, while you're at it, support your local hospital.

If you're all in for finding that perfect real Christmas tree this season, the 10th annual Family Christmas event at Spry Christmas Tree Farm is your chance to make a fun outing of it – while supporting Northumberland Hills Hospital.

On Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m,, Brian and Sharron Wharram Spry will once again open up their Hamilton Township Christmas tree farm to the community for a special event that will see 100% of its proceeds directed to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation's Light Up A Life campaign.

The farm is located at 8329 Danforth Rd. (between Burnham and Ontario streets). Drop in to find your perfect pick, with firs priced at $120 and all other trees priced at $80.

Santa and Mrs. Claus have again committed to come down from the North Pole to give everyone a chance for photo ops. And for no extra charge, enjoy some complimentary chili and hot dogs, with coffee and hot chocolate donated by Starbucks (and treats around a warm bonfire).

Those not in the market for a live tree are still invited to enjoy the festivities for a donation to the hospital.

Foundation Community Engagement and Events Specialist Megan Fluxgold expressed her thanks to the Spry family for their long-time support.

“And after 10 amazing years, Brian and Sharron have let us know this will be their final year,” Fluxgold added in the announcement.

“When they first introduced this event in 2015, their goal was to create a much-loved tradition for families to look forward to each year. They absolutely accomplished this, while raising more than $174,000 since its inception. Amazing!”

This year's event is sponsored by Baker Tilly, Wharram Tree Service Ltd., Craft Food House, Ley Wealth Management, Neil Ganson – RBC Wealth Management and Davey Tree Service.

All proceeds will be donated to the foundation's Light Up A Life campaign, whose 2024 proceeds will help support the purchase of hematology analyzers for the hospital's laboratory.
