Northumberland Learning Connection is proud to present best-selling author and political commentator David Frum in an in-person event in Cobourg July 21.
The son of CBC journalist Barbara Frum, this best-selling author and political commentator attended the University of Toronto and received a BA and MA in history from Yale, as well as a law degree from Harvard.
He has been active in Republican politics since Ronald Reagan's successful run for the presidency in 1980. In 2001-2002, he served as speech writer and special assistant to President George W. Bush.
A staff writer at The Atlantic and author of 10 books, his work has been widely praised.
His first book Dead Right, published in 1994, was characterized by Conservative icon William Buckley as “the most refreshingly intellectual experience in a generation.”
Of his 2012 novel Patriots, Arianna Huffington said, “David Frum...fearlessly speaks his mind, regardless of where the chips may fall, so it's no surprise he's able to convey so much truth in his fiction.”
His most recent book, published in 2020, is Trumpocalypse: Restoring American Democracy.
Frum and his wife Danielle Crittenden Frum live in Washington, DC, and Wellington in Prince Edward County, Ontario.
His presentation, taking place in Cobourg's Victoria Hall (55 King St. W.) is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. July 21 (doors open at 7 p.m.). Tickets are $25, and can be purchased on the Northumberland Learning Connection website.
