Buying bag tags just went on-line

By Cecilia Nasmith

With an eye both to encouraging physical distancing and expanding its on-line services, Northumberland County announces on-line sales of garbage-bag tags from its website.

“Through the Smart Northumberland initiative, Northumberland County continues to assess opportunities for digital service delivery to respond to resident needs with accessible, always-available online options,” Director of Transportation, Waste and Facilities Mo Pannu stated in the press release.

“With residents focused on physical distancing during COVID-19, we are pleased to deliver this secure and convenient on-line option for those who wish to purchase bag tags from the comfort of their own home.”

Bag tags are available online in blocks of 10 for $37.50, with a $2 shipping-and-handling fee per order. Tags also continue to be available for sale at more than 40 locations throughout Northumberland. For a list of locations, or to place an order, visit Northumberland.ca/BagTags.

For a list of other county services available on-line visit Northumberland.ca/ OnlineServices.
