Damages To Codrington Community Center Property

(As mentioned in today’s newscast)

Members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into a mischief investigation after damages were done to the property at the Codrington Community Center located on the corner of County Road 30 and County Road 27.

On Monday January 6, 2020, damages to the sun shelter located on the south side of the main community center building was reported to police. Between January 4 - 5, 2020, suspect(s) entered onto the property and damaged multiple electrical outlets, lights and posts.

On Monday January 13, 2020, just after 10:00 am police responded to the same location and observed several handicap signs pulled from the ground and tossed aside. Road reflectors were broken and bent with one of them being thrown onto the roof of the main building. Two other larger signs were also found to be damaged.  

The Northumberland OPP is asking for the public's assistance with this ongoing investigation and would ask that anyone with information to call their nearest OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122 or the Peterborough/Northumberland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
