CCN announces 22nd annual Caring Fore Our Community tourney

Spaces are going quickly for the June 5 Community Care Northumberland golf tournament at Brighton's Timber Ridge Golf Course.

It's the 22nd annual Caring Fore Our Community event, regional community-relations coordinator Alicia Vandine said, and an important fundraiser for the multi-service agency that operates throughout the county.

“We are seeing more demand for our programs and services, and we appreciate the support we receive from area businesses with sponsorships and the golfers for participating,” Vandine said in the press release.

Boasting Henderson Developments of Brighton ad a platinum sponsor, the tournament is a best ball scramble format that includes a barbecue lunch and a steak dinner, she said.

As well as top team prizes, there are also two hole-in-one prizes – a Hyundai Elantra preferred auto from Lauria Hyundai in Port Hope and a $10,000 cash prize sponsored by McGlennon Insurance in Colborne. You can also bid on such exciting silent-auction items a a $300 VIA travel voucher and several gift baskets.

Registration is $130 per golfer, Vandine said. It's a fun day of golfing in support of a great cause.

It takes place at Timber Ridge, where registration is at 11 a.m. And the tournament begins with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start.
