Celebrate the new year at Port Hope levee

By Cecilia Nasmith

Residents and friends of the Municipality of Port Hope will be warmly welcomed at the traditional New Year's Levee that takes place Jan, 1 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in council chambers.

The announcement noted that the levee is an age-old tradition that provides residents with the opportunity to connect with members of council as they reflect on the old year past and the new year ahead.

Mayor Bob Sanderson and the council contingent – Deputy Mayor Les Andrews and Councillors John Bickle, Laurie Carr, Jeff Lees, Wendy Meadows and Vicki Mink – invite people of all ages to attend the levee, enjoy the refreshments and share their new ideas and resolutions for the year ahead.

Council chambers are located upstairs at Town Hall (56 Queen St., Port Hope).
