Why elect Barbara Marian?
I believe that being elected to council means serving the public.
I believe in being a good contributing member of our community, following up on having previously done so for 15 years instructing my students with a goal of “how to be good people” in the community.
I want our council to be responsive to the needs of all of my fellow constituents, so they have comfort and peace of mind of living in a community that welcomes their constructive input and insights.
I endeavor to be a good listener with the goal of putting viable ideas into play, regardless of the source of those ideas.
I believe in fiscal restraint wherever possible, as has been my way in both my personal life and professional career.
I am civic duty minded having been an enumerator for 2026 Census Canada.
I have attended township council and committee of the whole meetings over the last two years. I have learned so much about the inner workings of a small municipality in Ontario.
I believe in volunteering in the community, having done so at Cramahe’s Touch a Truck, Summer Kick Off, Skate with Santa and Music in the Park BBQ’s. In addition, having been a reader and interviewer at Northumberland 89.7 FM radio station.
I have raised my sons here. I love my community. I would not want to live anywhere else.
