Engineering the future of Port Hope!
I bring over 35 years of municipal experience from my work in Engineering with the City of Oshawa. As a Project Manager for infrastructure delivery, I was involved in Capital Infrastructure projects of all types (roads, bridges, water, sewer, sidewalks …) from budget to completion. Engineering review of Development, as well as construction oversight to ensure quality assurance and adherence to standards & criteria. This background has given me a solid understanding of how municipalities work and how to deliver projects that serve the community well.
As an active member of the Garden Hill neighbourhood group, I have been advocating for residents and raising awareness about concerns related to local subdivision development as well as concerns related to the Garden Hill Conservation Area Dam.
Port Hope needs to develop strategies to guide development. We must clearly identify which lands can be serviced, establish a proactive growth strategy, and ensure development aligns with long-term infrastructure planning.
Ontario Power Generation at Wesleyville, if the provincial and federal governments decide this is moving forward, it will change Port Hope forever. With a project of this scale there will be positives and some negatives. Port Hope Council must do their very best to protect Port Hope.
Port Hope is not keeping up with it’s infrastructure needs and strategies need to be developed to improve the delivery and upkeep of infrastructure. Experience has taught me to approach issues with logic and common sense, to research thoroughly, and to uncover key details so that the best possible decisions can be made. As a proud resident of rural Port Hope for over 10 years, I would be honoured to bring my experience and commitment to serve Port Hope Council in Ward 2.

I have been a proud resident of Garden Hill for over 30 years. From working in the skilled trades as an Electrician in Port Hope to an over 27 year career with the Port Hope Fire Department to building a career in agriculture I have enjoyed contributing to my community.
Whether donating time on committees, engaging in community events or giving back through local food initiatives I feel that active community engagement is essential.
I look forward to the opportunity to represent my fellow Ward 2 residents as part of.the larger community of Port Hope.
My campaign for Councillor Ward 2 Port Hope Focusses on 4 Pillars:
1. A Focus on “Back to Basics”: Municipal services and planning, municipal infrastructure, a customer-first approach and a plan to maintain this in an evolving community
2. Economic Sustainability and Growth: Empowering local economic opportunities while respecting agricultural lands and natural areas with a consistent, evidence informed and policy guided approach
3. Fiscal Accountability and Respecting the Ratepayer: Prioritizing reducing financial burden on local taxpayers by ensuring that there is clear communication, process and oversight.
4. Integrity and Transparency: Ensuring that I am available to meet and speak with my fellow community members and advocate on your behalf about your concerns.
