After three years and three sold-out conferences, the She Owns It women's entrepreneurship conference is back for a fourth year on Nov. 5.
Presented by the Business and Entrepreneurship Centre of Northumberland, it features new and returning speakers, two hands-on workshops and perhaps a few surprises.
Keynote speaker Emily O'Brien (Chief Executive Officer and founder of Comeback Snacks) is the keynote speaker, sharing her incredible story of going from incarceration to founder of a company whose products are now a major brand available in grocery stores and on-line retailers across North America.
O'Brien will be followed by speaker and author Leisse Wilcox, followed by a panel discussion that will share strategies and lessons learned by four other inspiring women entrepreneurs – K Okay Care and Roasters co-owner Tracy Ioannidis, Sherry Heenan Physiotheraphy founder Sherry Heenan, Frosted Flour Co. owner and founder Hannah MacDonald, and lifestyle photographer and creative entrepreneur Chantelle Watt.
As well, Theresa Bailey – founder and CEO of Starfish Synergies – is speaker at a workshop on Building Confidence and Connections in a Changing World. And Katie Dempsey – owner and marketing director of Brand Ambition Creative Agency – speaks at a workshop on Using AI on Social Media without Losing Your Voice.
“We're excited to bring She Owns It back for another year with even more opportunities for women entrepreneurs to learn, connect and grow,” BECN Business Development Co-ordinator Kailyn Coupland said in the announcement.
“This year's conference is designed to be both inspiring and hands-on. We want attendees to leave with new connections, fresh ideas and practical take-aways they can apply to their business or profession.”
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3:15 a.m. at the Best Western lus Cobourg Inn and Convention Centre, and your registration includes a continental breakfast. Tickets are now available at $58 plus HST at BECN.ca/SheOwnsIt
