Share your cycling experiences and win

By Cecilia Nasmith

Northumberland County is inviting cyclists from across the region and beyond to share their experiences, and help shape the next edition of the Cycle Northumberland Guide.

All it takes is to complete a short survey that will gather valuable feedback on the routes, amenities, information and experiences that matter most to riders. These insights will help ensure the updated guide continues to showcase Northumberland County as one of Ontario's premier cycling destinations.

And as a thank-you, participating survey respondents will be entered for a chance to win a prize package valued at more than $1,000, which includes a cyclist-themed gift basket, a $500 gift card to Century Cycle in Colborne, and a one-night stay at downtown Port Hope's Hotel Carlyle (including dinner for two, featuring one appetizer, two main courses, two desserts and two non-alcoholic beverages.

Local cyclist Becki Walsh was quoted in the announcement about what makes cycling in Northumberland County special to her, as a local.

“I get to connect with and see the area in a way and at a pace that lets me truly appreciate it,” Walsh commented.

“I can slow down, take in the scenery, communities and hidden gems along the way, from rolling hills to peaceful country toads and the beautiful views along Lake Ontario – we have it all. And every ride feels like a reminder that sometimes the most memorable adventures happen in the places we know best.”

The survey and contest runs through Sept. 7. Cyclists of all experience levels are encouraged to participate at NorthumberlandTourism.com/CycleNorthumberlandContest
