Greenhouse open house is May 9

The Town of Cobourg Community Services Division invites all residents to attend the open house at the Cobourg Greenhouse on May 9.

This popular annual event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the greenhouse – 501 Thompson St. - featuring guide tours and a chance to see how thousands of annuals and perennials are grown and prepared for the public flower beds and hanging baskets that will soon brighten the municipality.

Event highlights include historic photo albums showcasing past designs on the Victoria Park Floral Clock, complimentary coffee and refreshments, and a barbecue lunch between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. It's a unique opportunity to explore one of the town's most colourful traditions and see the behind-the-scenes work that goes into their vibrant public spaces.

As always, these plants are exclusively cultivated for municipal gardens, and are not for sale.
