Public Media Notice Edited by Emily Pratt

PETERBOROUGH COUNTY / NORTHUMBERLAND, ON - The Peterborough County and Northumberland Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are supporting a series of awareness and training sessions hosted by Victim Services Peterborough and Northumberland in recognition of Victims and Survivors of Crime Week 2026.

Building on the success of last year's sessions, Victim Services Peterborough and Northumberland will offer survivor‑led, trauma‑informed learning opportunities focused on Human Trafficking and Internet Child Exploitation. These sessions will include contributions from Victim Services, law enforcement, and a specialized exploitation therapist.

In keeping with this year's theme, "The Power of Collaboration," the sessions are designed to strengthen community responses through education, prevention, and partnership. Participants will also have opportunities to connect with local community partners and learn more about available supports and services within the region.
