Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation announces a new fundraiser that's a big dill – the May 2 inaugural Northumberland Pickleball Classic.
With divisions for every skill level, exciting raffles and more, this tournament promises a dynamic day of friendly competition and meaningful impact for players, fans and families alike at the new pickleball facility, Dink Den, in Cobourg.
Two-person teams can register for $200 per team at NHHFoundation.ca/Pickleball.
Proceeds will support NHH”s breast program by helping introduce the latest wire-free breast tissue localization technology. This less-invasive method improves patient comfort, supports more precise marking of abnormal areas for biopsy or removal, and increases operational efficiently. This technology was successfully introduced at NHH on a trial basis, and community support will help to make it a permanent option for future patients.
“Pickelball has quickly become a passion for so many in our community, and this tournament is a fun, inclusive way to channel that energy into something meaningful,” Foundation Manager of Community Giving Courtney Ker.
“It's more than just a day of friendly competition – it's an opportunity to rally together in support of exceptional local health care, and the patients and families who rely on it.”
Local businesses and community partners are invited to get involved through a variety of sponsorship opportunities, offering recognition through event signage, promotional materials, social media and more.
“Our hospital is there for our community when care is needed most,” Ker noted
“Ensuring it remains equipped with the best tools and technology depends on the generosity of our community, and this event offers a fun and meaningful way to show that support – as a player, a volunteer or a sponsor.”
