With a long history of staging public events that look at important issues, Victoria Hall Volunteers welcomes you to their May 8 evening with author Mark Schatzker called The End of Craving.
Schatzker – author of Steak: One Man's Search for the World's Tastiest Piece of Beef and The Dorito Effect: The Surprising New Truth About Food and Flavour – will discuss his most recent book The End of Craving: Recovering The Lost Wisdom of Eating Well.
This Toronto writer has travelled the world in a quest to uncover the lost art of eating and living well. His conclusion, as set out in his three book, is that decades of advancements in food technology have turned the brain's desire to eat against the body. The result is an unrelenting state of craving.
The End of Craving combines cutting-edge science and ancient wisdom in an accessible and engaging investigation that can fundamentally change how we understand both food and ourselves.
Schatzker, a writer-in-residence at the Modern Diet and Physiology Research Centre at McGill University, will take the stage at the Victoria Hall Concert Hall in Cobourg at 7:30 p.m. May 8. Tickets are $30, available at the Victoria Hall Concert Hall box office and at www.vhv.cobourg.ca
