Northumberland Hills Hospital announces a new NPR clinic – Newborn, Perinatal, Reproductive Care.

This innovation will provide in-hospital non-urgent ambulatory services to support women's wellness and newborn health in the antenatal and postpartum phases of care for patients across Northumberland County.

This co-ordinated approach to antenatal, postpartum and newborn care will be offered on an appointment-only basis (no walk-ins) on the second floor, with the clinic adjacent to the Maternal-Child inpatient unit offering two exam rooms and a dedicated waiting area on 2A. Hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

These services are offered for:

  • Obstetrical patients attached to a delivering care provider at NHH

  • Newborns up to six weeks of age, including those recently discharged from NHH

  • Postpartum follow-up for wound assessment and hypertension

  • Expectant patients requiring RhoCAM, Non-Stress Test (TST), blood work or blood-pressure monitoring

  • Those in early pregnancy requiring follow-up due to complications

  • Those needing education and navigation to community and specialty resources

All patients require a booked appointment with an NHH provider. Please note that, for patients without OHIP, some services may not be covered and could involve a fee.

Last year, NHH's Maternal-Child care team supported more than 500 hospital births in the last fiscal year, thanks to a strong partnership with local obstetrician-gynecologists, family physicians, anesthesiologists and area midwives.

If you are expecting a baby in 2026, learn more about NHH's services (including a listing of area obstetrical care providers) at nhh.ca (click on Maternal Childcare services under the Patient Services tab.
