OPP investigate serious 401 crash near Grafton

Police are investigating a serious crash on Highway 401 near Grafton, which sent one person to Toronto hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Northumberland OPP were called to the westbound lane of the Highway Wednesday night, east of the Lyle Street overpass for a collision involving three passenger vehicles.

Authorities shut down the highway at Colborne for approximately eight hours to investigate.

One passenger was transported to a Toronto-area hospital by Air ORNGE with life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information or video evidence of the situation is asked to contact police.
