A 23-year-old woman is facing charges after an alleged assault at a home in Campbellford last Wednesday afternoon that sent one person to hospital.

Police say officers responded to a report from EMS to a multi-unit residence on Front Street South around 3:30PM on July 9th. Officers allege the victim sustained severe injuries and was taken to hospital. The suspect was not present when officers arrived. The scene was held for forensic services to assist with the investigation.

This Sunday, police arrested a 23-year-old woman with no fixed address. She is charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and theft. The suspect and victim are known to each other.

She was held in custody for a bail hearing. To protect the identity of the victim, her name is not being released to the public.
