Assault arrest in Douro-Dummer

A 34-year-old Douro-Dummer man is facing multiple charges after an alleged assault involving a weapon this past Thursday evening at Maryvale Road.

Peterborough County OPP say officers responded to a disturbance on Thursday, where a resident reported that a neighbour became enraged when asked to move items from a shared space.

The accused allegedly followed the victim with a weapon, attempted to strike them, and caused damage to a vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, the 34-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and mischief.

He remains in custody pending a bail hearing in Peterborough.
