Post Cereals is closing two plants in North America as it faces a decline in ready-to-eat cereals.

The Cobourg plant and the Nevada facility are slated to close at the end of the year, impacting 300 jobs.

"The ready-to-eat cereal category continues to decline. To respond to this, we are reducing excess manufacturing capacity and optimizing our North American plant network to better utilize our production capacity,” said.

Post Consumer Brands President and CEO Nicolas Catoggio. Post Cereal bought the Cobourg facility in 2017, from Wheetbix.
