A 43 year old Port Hope woman is accused of driving with six times the legal amount of booze in her system after Durham police stopped a suspected drunk driver in Courtice.

A white Kia Sportage was stopped in the area of Baseline and Courtice roads around 5:20 p.m. on Feb. 7 after officers responded to a 911 call about a suspected impaired driver.

While speaking with the driver, Durham police say a woman “showed obvious signs of impairment” and was arrested.

According to police, the driver’s breath test result indicated 480 mg and 460 mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood — six times the legal limit of 80 mg.
