Port Hope woman charged for allegedly stealing poppy donation box

A Port Hope woman is facing charges for allegedly stealing a poppy donation box.

Police claim the incident occurred Wednesday evening at a restaurant on Peter Street.

Staff reported that a woman entered the establishment, approached the front counter, and concealed the poppy donation box in her jacket before leaving.

Security footage was used to identify the suspect. She was arrested Thursday and held for a bail hearing.
