The Walk a Mile Campaign raised over $55,000. Cornerstone Family Violence and Prevention Centre hosted the event in downtown Cobourg Oct. 4.

“We are beyond thrilled by the generosity of our community,” said Nancy Johnston, Executive Director of Cornerstone. “Each year, Walk A Mile is a reminder that when we work together, we can make real change for women and children in our community. The funds raised support our programs and services, including shelter, counselling, prevention programming and more.”

These funds will help Cornerstone continue to provide vital programs and services to individuals and families impacted by gender-based violence across Northumberland County.

The lighthearted, family-friendly event brought together community members in a show of support for women, children, and youth impacted by gender-based violence.
