Cobourg man charged with allegedly spitting on officer

A Cobourg man is facing assault on a police officer, during an alleged incident in the downtown.

On Friday, police responded to King Street East on a report that a person threw an object through the front window of a building.

During the arrest, it is alleged the unidentified man spat at an officer. He is charged with Mischief Under $5,000 and Assault on a Peace Officer.

The accused was held for bail.
