Port Hope driver faces DUI charge

A novice driver from Port Hope is facing charges for allegedly driving impaired and erratically through the downtown.

Police claim on Saturday, the vehicle failed to stop for police and fled at a high rate of speed before entering a dead-end street, where officers located the vehicle and three occupants nearby.

The accused will have a court date in October.
