Cobourg Police seek to identify person of interest in business break-and-enters
Cobourg Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in an ongoing investigation into break-and-enter incidents at four local businesses in town last week.
Last Monday around 7:18 a.m., police responded to a call for a break and enter at a business on Elgin Street East. It was reported that an individual entered the building by prying the door open and stole cash before leaving the area.
On Friday, police received reports of three similar break and enter incidents starting at 6:10 a.m. at a business on Elgin Street West, another at 6:37 on Strathy Road and one at 7:13 a.m. on Elgin Street East.
The theft of cash and damage to property amounts to approximately $5,500. Police believe that the same person was involved in all four incidents and are working to identify a person of interest.
