The Mill Restaurant in Cobourg will be transformed into a prohibition-era bar experience on Feb. 2 for the Rotary Club of Cobourg’s SpeakEasy event.
You will require a password to enter through the secret door. Once inside, attendees will be transported back to the roaring 1920s- an era known for its elegance, glamour and prohibition.
“This is an exciting, new fundraiser for our community. The organizing committee has been working tirelessly for months to make this event a huge success,” stated Beth Selby, chair of the Rotary SpeakEasy organizing committee.
The evening will include a gourmet menu prepared by Prep Food Co. along with two other professional chefs. There will be something for everyone including-passed gourmet delights, soup station, charcuterie buffet and dessert station featuring a chocolate fountain.
While not a sit-down dinner, there will be different foods served on all three levels of the venue to encourage mingling and fun.
Specialty Cocktails include a Satin Doll Martini, The Mary Pickford Cocktail, and the Old fashioned. Non-alcoholic cocktails will be available as well. Your ticket includes one complimentary drink.
Music will be provided by two live bands-Carling Stephen & Rob Phillips and The Chris Delvin Quartet.
Other fun prohibition experiences await you inside the doors. Silent Auction items will be available to bid on and also the Rotary Getaway Raffle tickets will be available.
The raffle draw will happen at the event. There are only 200 tickets available for the exclusive SpeakEasy Cobourg Rotary Raffle and they are on sale now at rotary-club-of-cobourg.square.site.
The ticket price is $100 and the exciting prizes include: 1st-$5000 Travel Voucher, 2nd - $1500 Visa Gift Card, 3rd - $750 Via Rail Gift Card.
