The Special Investigation Unit is investigating after an individual in custody waiting for a bail hearing requested medical attention for an injury, Cobourg Police have announced.
At 6 p.m. Tuesday evening, police responded to a call for a fight in town and one individual was arrested and held for a show cause hearing. While in custody, the individual requested medical attention and was transported to hospital to be assessed.
The Cobourg Police Service notified the province’s SIU of the incident, and it has invoked its mandate. As such, Cobourg Police are unable to provide any further information.
