Changes to 2024 Float Your Fanny event in Port Hope

There are changes coming to this year’s Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny in Port Hope due to construction at the Sylvan Glen Bridge, which is not expected to be completed by the event’s Apr. 13 date.

As a result, there will be no Crazy Craft competition. The Float Your Fanny committee reviewed other possible configurations and locations, but none were suitable.

The Canoes and Kayak categories are unchanged, launching from Country Road 10 and Massey Road. Meanwhile, Fannyville will pop up in the traditional location on Cavan Street and be in full swing with live entertainment, food vendors and hands-on fun.

For one year only, the Crazy Craft category will be replaced with a new participant experience – the Floaty category. That race will launch from Optimist Park and travel the rapids down to Fannyville.  More details, rules and regulations will be released soon.

The Float your Fanny tradition began over 40 years ago, when the community rallied together to show reliance following the great flood of Port Hope.
